Where can you get a Great Sunday Lunch in Harrogate?

When it comes to Sunday Lunch venues, Harrogate does not disappoint. Whether you prefer a traditional pub setting, elegant restaurant or carvery style, we’ve put together our top choices to help take the guesswork out of finding the perfect Sunday roast in Harrogate.

I’ve tried to list each restaurant’s price for a beef dinner and any kids portions so it’s easy to compare costs. This list is something we will keep adding to as we find more little gems in the area. If you know of somewhere please feel free the get in touch, we love to discover new places.

The Bay Horse Inn, Goldsborough

  • Main St, Goldsborough, HG5 8NW

This is first on the list for a reason, it’s an absolute favourite of ours.
The Bay Horse Inn is a grade II listed 17th century former coaching inn. If you’re looking for a traditional pub setting with top quality food then you don’t need to go any further.

  • A roast beef dinner costs £18 (two courses £23.50, three courses £29). Kids roasts are £7.

The Curious Cow

  • Skipton Road, Killinghall, HG3 2AP

If you’re a regular to the blog you’ll know we do love a visit to the Curious Cow. Great food and service plus its right on our doorstep which is handy!

There’s a great choice of food available and they have what I consider to be the best value kids meals in Harrogate. 3 courses and a drink for under £10. Guess what? There’s a blog about where’s best to eat with kids too!

  • A typical beef dinner is £16.95. Kids roasts are available for £8.95.

The Nelson Inn

  • Skipton Road, Harrogate, HG3 2BU

Recently refurbished, The Nelson Inn is a gorgeous country pub but not too far out of town. During the warmer weather you can take advantage of their large outdoor seating area. In the colder months get cosy inside next to the fire.

  • A typical beef dinner costs £19.95. A Kids portion is £13.95.

The West Park

  • 19 West Park, Harrogate, HG1 1BJ

If you’re looking for a town centre location this could be for you. The West Park has a stylish interior and a ‘Love Island-esqe’ courtyard to the rear.

  • Two courses are £26, three courses £32

Carters at The Majestic Hotel

  • Ripon Road, Harrogate, HG1 2HU

Sorry it’s actually called ‘Carters Champagne Bar and Grill at the Doubletree by Hilton Majestic Hotel’ but I refuse to write all that in the heading!

I didn’t expect too much when we went for Sunday lunch recently, not in a bad way, just that I never expect too much from big hotels. The Majestic however changed my opinion. The beef was tender, the gravy was the best I’ve ever had and not to mention that they offer bottomless Yorkshire puddings (something that I think everywhere should offer).

  • 2 courses are £19.99, three courses £24.95.

The Outside Inn

  • Skipton Road, Harrogate, HG3 2LT

This is the perfect place to stop after a trip into the dales. Situated on the A59 The Outside Inn is where locals will know as the Millstones used to be.

They do a fantastic carvery every Sunday, get there early to avoid disappointment. You can choose from a large or small plate and help yourself to as much veg and Yorkshire puddings as you’d like. I particularly enjoyed their potatoes, something which done wrongly can really spoil a roast.

  • A small plate (2 slices of meat) is £14.50, large £16.50 (3 slices), kids portion (1 slice) £10.00.

The Inn at South Stainley

  • A61, South Stainley, Harrogate, HG3 3ND

Our most recent Sunday lunch find is The Inn at South Stainley. The last time I visited it had a wacky warehouse, it couldn’t be more different now.
They have a great selection on the menu and I like that you can opt to have all 4 meats if you’re feeling extra hungry!

  • A beef dinner costs £18.95 and a childrens portion is £8.95.

Whether you call is Sunday dinner, Sunday Lunch or roast dinner we’ve hopefully given you plenty of tried and tested places to try in Harrogate. We’d love to know where you’re favourite for Sunday lunch in Harrogate is.
