Attractions Offering ‘Pay Once, Visit All Year’ in Yorkshire

Did you know there a loads of attractions in and around Yorkshire that offer 12 months of entry when you pay just once?!

I’ve kept this separate to my membership blog because the places below all offer a pay once; visit all year ticket for very reasonable prices. The memberships tend to be more expensive, most cover more than one venue and would take a few repeat visits to get your monies worth. Make sure you check out both so you can really make the most of all of these brilliant deals on family days out in Yorkshire.

With most of the family days out included below, you just have to buy a standard ticket and that will the allow you unlimited entry for a full 12 months. Some offer an ‘upgrade’ where you pay a little more than the standard ticket price to allow annual entry, but it’s normally not too much extra to do so.

As always, check online for the most up to date prices and if you need to buy your tickets before you arrive.

Beamish – County Durham, DH9 0RG

Beamish is a world famous open air museum which brings the history of North East England to life at its 1820s Pockerley, 1900s Town, 1900s Pit Village, 1940s Farm, 1950s Town and 1950s Spain’s Field Farm exhibit areas. Visitors to the museum meet costumed folk and discover fascinating stories of everyday life in the region through time.

Ok so this isn’t technically Yorkshire, don’t come at me! If you jump on the A1 north, it should take you just over an hour from Harrogate which I don’t think is too bad.

Knaresborough Castle & Pump Room Museum

If you are one of my regular local readers, did you know this? because I certainly didn’t until recently!

You can pay one price and get a year of visits to both Knaresborough Castle AND the Pump Rooms.

It may seem peaceful now, but Knaresborough Castle was once a mighty stronghold of medieval kings. Take in the awe-inspiring views and then discover the dungeon, ancient graffiti and special secret tunnel. Inside the museum you’ll find tales of local characters including Blind Jack, Guy Fawkes and Mother Shipton. You’ll also find the rare, original Tudor court room where suspected criminals faced public trail.

Discover more about the science behind the sulphur water at the Royal Pump Room Museum during talks from their knowledgeable staff. Learn about the role of Harrogate’s mineral waters in the development of Harrogate as a thriving spa town.

Family (2 adults and up to 3 children)£35.00

Again this is an upgrade price, you can pay individually per venue. A family ticket is £11.75 per venue, per visit.

How Stean Gorge – Lofthouse, Pateley Bridge, Harrogate HG3 5SF

I’ve saved this little gem for last! We love How Stean Gorge and it’s super cheap. Armed with a hard hat, torch and sensible shoes you can explore this little hidden gem which has been here for 10 thousand years, since the last Ice Age. The gorge limestone is so special that it is graded as a SSSI – a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The walk through the caves takes you past lots of attractions that we think are some of the most beautiful and unique parts of the Yorkshire Dales.

There is so much to do at How Stean Gorge. The prices quoted are just for entry to the gorge, if you want to take part in some of their activities like abseiling or rock climbing there are additional charges. Make sure to bring your own torch (or you can buy one for £2.50).

Adult£7.00
Children 5-16yrs£5.00
Children under 5Free

Make sure you visit their café too, it has a glass floor with incredible views down into the gorge. It’s featured in out Drinks With A View blog too.

Wow, I think there are some great ideas amongst all of these. Which is your favourite? And have I suggested places you haven’t thought of before?

If there are any places I’ve missed please let me know so I can get them added.
