First of all, Hello and welcome! I’m so happy you are here.
If you’ve discovered my blog and want to know a but more about the people behind it, you’re in the right place.
My name is Claire and I’m a 40 something accountant and Mum to Izzy, an 12 year old wannabe Lioness.
During lockdown 2.0 (2020 I think) I started an Instagram account as a place to upload my favourite photos of Harrogate and to help promote struggling local businesses.
My account grew a lot quicker than expected and I created my own little community of likeminded souls in Harrogate, who also loved where they lived and wanted ideas for where to go and what to do in Harrogate.
After that, I started to get messages from people who were visiting Harrogate asking for recommendations of where to go, stay and eat during their visits. I loved it…it was like running my own mini tourist information centre!
I’ve never been great at coming up with ideas ‘off the cuff’ so I started making lists (I love a list!) of all the restaurants in Harrogate and putting them in categories like family friendly/posh/good for brunch etc so I would be prepared for peoples questions. As well as food, I looked at local days out and had lists of ‘cheap and cheerful’ to ‘expensive/bougie’ places to visit.
And the outcome of all of the above is this blog! A hub of information that’s hopefully useful to both locals and tourists. I’m starting to turn all of those lists into interesting pieces to read, in the hope that it can inspire others to try all these great places Harrogate has to offer.
Most of the places that appear on the blog we have visited in person, I don’t like to recommend anywhere we haven’t tried ourselves and loved. I also want this to be an unbiased place so you won’t find any sponsored posts here. A couple of articles mention places we have been invited to, but they will be clearly labelled and believe me, they only appear on here if we had a really great time!
I hope you enjoy your time here and feel free to come back as many times as you like to get more inspiration for places to visit, eat & drink in Harrogate and so much more.
